I made a list of content from the current wave of Boxsets and whether DGM sells them [Part 1]

I made a list of content from the current wave of Boxsets and whether DGM sells them [Part 1]
You can find Part 2 here
Based on a previous post, I decided to make a list of every disc from each of the currently available King Crimson boxsets. I do not include the content from the original Court of the Crimson King boxset from 2009 as that is long out of print and King Crimson is going to be redoing that set in the future. Where possible, I will include links to DGM if the discs are available for sale digitally through their store, in case you aren't interested in the sets as a whole, but might still want portions of them. If the disc is exclusive to the boxset, then I will make a note of it. This list is in order of when in King Crimson's history the boxsets cover, not necessarily the release order the sets came out in. For the sake of condensing the list as well as ease of reading the list, I will leave off the Discs that do not include studio releases as the main focus of this post is to show where on DGM Live you can purchase the content of the boxsets without having to purchase the entire boxset.

Sailors' Tales (1970-1972)

Sailor's Tales
Having lost half the band after In the Court of the Crimson King, Fripp would convince Greg Lake and Michael Giles to return as session musicians for In the Wake of Poseidon, but after that he would need a new overall lineup if King Crimson were to continue. This second Lineup would encompass In the Wake of Poseidon post-studio recording through Islands. This boxset covers the Islands era of King Crimson at the beginning of the 1970's. It was released on November 10, 2017.

Larks' Tongues in Aspic: The Complete Recordings

Larks' Tongues in Aspic: The Complete Recordings
After the Islands Lineup Broke up, Robert Fripp would recruit Bill Bruford of Yes, John Wetton of Family, and David Cross to form the lineup that would run for the rest of King Crimson's 70's career. This Boxset picks up where Sailors' Tales left off, covering Late 1972 and 1973's Larks' Tongues in Aspic Studio Album. The boxset was released on October 15, 2012.
CD Content-
  1. The Zoom Club, Frankfurt October 13, 1972 - Available on DGM Live Here
    1. On DGM Live, Discs 1 and 2 are swapped compared to the box set's listing. Based on the Tracklist, I'm assuming the Box set is correct.

  3. Live in the Studio, Bremen October 17, 1972 - Available on DGM Live Here

The Road to Red

The Road to Red
Rounding out the end of the 1970's saga of King Crimson, as well as the Larks' Tongues era, John Wetton's and David Cross' tenure, and even the final tour before Robert Fripp discovers Dapper Dan in the 1980's, we have The Road to Red. This Boxset picks up days after Starless leaves off in 1974 and goes through the American tour King Crimson embarked prior to the release of Red. This boxset was released on October 14, 2013.

On (and off) The Road

On (and off) The Road
After a nearly 7 year hiatus, King Crimson is back after Fripp brought back Bill Bruford and enlisted Americans Tony Levin and Adrian Belew into a very different iteration of King Crimson, one that wasn't even originally going to be called King Crimson. This box set covers this era, encompassing the 1980s and the associated studio albums of Discipline, Beat, and Three of a Perfect Pair. This Box set was released on October 28, 2016.
CD Content-
  1. Discipline
  2. Live in Japan December 18, 1981 - Available on DGM Live Here
  3. Beat
  4. Live at Alabamahalle September 29, 1982 - Available on DGM Live Here
  5. Fragmented - Available on DGM Live Here
    1. This is a set of studio recordings made that would eventually be scrapped in favor of what would become Three of a Perfect Pair. This was previously available in the King Crimson Collector's Club, but this version has 2 additional tracks. The DGM Live purchase lacks the additional tracks as well. The additional tracks are:
      1. Yoli Yoli
      2. Adrian and Robert
  6. Three of a Perfect Pair
  7. Absent Lovers- Not on DGM Live
    1. This is not available as a Digital purchase from DGM Live, however you can purchase a CD copy of it from DGM USA or DGM UK.
  8. Absent Lovers- Second half of Disc 7's content
  9. Are you recording Gary? - Not on DGM Live
    1. This disc is similar to Larks' Tongues in Aspic's Session Reels in that it is a behind the scenes look at King Crimson in the studio. The title track is 15 minutes of King Crimson jamming and chatting working out material. The other three tracks are essentially abridged versions of the three albums of the era showing various portions of the albums in work in progress states.

STATE OF THE WEEK 05: CONNECTICUT

Connecticut

Five Fast Facts

  1. The Fundamental Orders, adopted by Connecticut Colonists on January 24, 1639, is considered to be the first written constitution in the western world. While short, it sets principles that were later applied to the US Constitution. These include government based on the consent of the governed (including spelling out individual rights and how they are ensured) and election of leaders by free men.
  2. Connecticut was the first state to set a speed limit for automobiles; in 1901 the Connecticut government set a speed limit of 12 miles per hour. In 1937 it became the first state to issue permanent license plates for cars.
  3. Among the silly laws allegedly on the books in Connecticut: in order for a pickle to be considered a pickle, it has to bounce; silly string is banned in the town of Southington, and it is illegal to walk backwards on city sidewalks after sunset in Devon.
  4. The Hartford Courant is the oldest continually published newspaper in the United States, having been established in 1764.
  5. Opened in 1846, Lake Compounce, located just down the street from ESPN’s Bristol headquarters, is the oldest continuously-operated amusement park in the United States. Its premier attraction, Boulder Dash, is the first wooden roller coaster built entirely into the side of a mountain, and has won the Golden Ticket Award for Best Wood Coaster four times since it opened in 2000, including the past three years.

Culture

Nutmegger?
So what does nutmeg have to do with Connecticut? Well, no one really knows. One theory (the most popular told to Connecticut children) is that swindlers from the state were notorious for selling counterfeit nutmegs made from wood to unsuspecting travelers and residents of seaside towns. Another more innocuous explanation is that traders from Connecticut were in fact selling real nutmeg, but customers unfamiliar with the unusually hard native form of the spice may have felt they had been tricked into buying a wooden counterfeit. The source of the legend traces back to the 1830’s newspaper column “The Sayings and Doings of Samuel Slick, of Slickville”, who claimed that Captain John Allspice, a popular trader who did business in Charleston, would cut his purchase of fifty barrels of nutmeg into two and fill the remaining space with wooden counterfeits, which looked so real that it was impossible to spot the difference unless you bit the nutmeg with your teeth.
Sikorsky Aircraft and United Technologies
Igor Sikorsky, a Kiev-born immigrant, founded Sikorsky in 1925 in Roosevelt, New York. In 1929, the company moved to Stratford, Connecticut and became part of United Technologies Corporation. Originally focused on multi-engine airplanes and amphibious aircraft (such as the Sikorsky Clipper), Sikorsky began developing the first practical helicopter, continuing work he had begun in Russia in 1909. In 1939, the first tethered and free-flight helicopter flights took place between 1939 and 1940; the V-S 300 design remains the basis for most helicopter designs today.
Cuisine
New Haven-style pizza (known as “Apizza”) is considered by culinary historians (such as Jeffrey Steingarten) to be among the best styles of Neapolitan-American pizza, along with New York City. While limited geographically until recently, restaurants specializing in the style have opened in the Washington DC, Oregon, Michigan, Texas and Tokyo.
The lobster roll originated in Milford in 1929 at a restaurant called Perry’s. The Connecticut-style lobster roll is simply warm lobster meat soaked in butter and served on a steamed bun. The more popular Maine style, consisting of cold lobster meat served with mayonnaise, celery, lemon juice, and lettuce is known locally as a lobster salad roll, and is more well-known outside of New England.
Connecticut is recognized by the Library of Congress as the birthplace of the modern hamburger. Louis Lunch in New Haven is known as the oldest continually operating hamburger restaurant, and is known for disliking the addition of any condiments to the burger, especially ketchup. Yale students who sneak in ketchup have been asked to leave in the past.
Charter Oak
The Charter Oak was a large white oak tree estimated to be around 600-700 years old at the time it fell in 1856. According to tradition, the state’s Royal Charter of 1662 was hidden in the hollow portion of the tree to prevent its confiscation by the English governor-general; this story became a symbol of American Independence. Captain Joseph Wadsworth (ancestor of Revolutionary general Elijah Wadsworth) was was credited as the person who hid the charter from Royal authorities, who did not like the amount of local autonomy the charter gave to colonists. After it fell during a violent storm, timber from the tree was made into several chairs, which are displayed in the Hartford Capitol Building. The Charter Oak adorns the state quarter and is still a symbol for the state as a whole today.
Sports
While Connecticut does not currently have a “big four” franchise, it has hosted multiple teams in all of the big four previously:
League Team Years Active
NHL Hartford Whalers 1972 - 1997
MLB Hartford Dark Blues 1876
NFL Hartford Blues 1926
NFL New York Giants 1973 – 1974 (played at Yale Bowl while Giants Stadium was under construction)
NBA Boston Celtics 1975 – 1995 (various home games)
The WNBA Connecticut Sun are the only current major professional sports team playing in the state, and are considered the most successful franchise in the WNBA to not win an overall championship.
The Pilot-Pen Tennis Tournament and the Travelers Championship both take place in Connecticut (in New Haven and Hartford, Respectively).
Lime Rock Park is a 1.53-mile natural-terrain course located in the Northwestern corner of Connecticut. It currently hosts events for the WeatherTech Sports Car Championship and has hosted events for NASCAR, Grand-Am, ALMS and the Pirelli World Challenge. The track also hosts a Historic Festival every Labor Day which features classic car shows and historic race cars taking part in exhibition races.
Connecticut’s NCAA Division I teams are:
  • UCONN
  • Quinnipiac University
  • Fairfield University
  • Central Connecticut State University
  • Sacred Heart University
  • University of Hartford
The UCONN Huskies are the only team to win men’s and women’s basketball championships in the same year, having done so twice (2004, 2014). The UCONN Women hold the NCAA record for the longest winning streak in college basketball at 90 games, having gone undefeated from 2008 until December 30, 2010 after a loss to Stanford. The Women have not missed the NCAA Final Four since 2008.

Does anyone play regularly in Michigan? What are the best spots to play?

I made a list of casinos within a 5 hour circle from me. I have no way of determining if any are utilizing CSM's or are still fully playable houses. I'm hoping the bulk of these are still tried and true places I can work on my counting practice. I recently took a road trip passed the UP and into Ontario but all of the Ontario casinos employ CSMs very reliably (that I've seen so far on my last business trip) so that whole area is out. Plus, there aren't nearly as many casinos so densely compacted like there are in Michigan.
I thought I'd simply dump'em here and see if anyone has experience at these places.
Northern and Central MI has a shitload of casinos. I'm new to the state so I haven't been to a single one of these yet but I'm going to start checking them out hopefully in a couple months once I'm settled in and figure out my bankroll situation.
The only house I've heard any feedback from is Turtle Creek in Traverse City and that it's an excellent place to play.
Thanks;

Place Equipes PTS J V N D BP BC +/-
1 Gignac FC 9 4 3 0 1 13 7 6
2 In Genesio We Trust 9 4 3 0 1 13 8 5
3 hello fc 8 4 2 2 0 8 2 6
4 Joga Bonito 7 4 2 1 1 10 11 -1
5 Aman 5 4 1 2 1 8 8 0
6 Se Quedalle FC 3 4 1 0 3 4 9 -5
7 FC HippoBigga 3 4 1 0 3 9 17 -8
8 Meethz FC 1 4 0 1 3 4 7 -3

Observations:

- Aman 2 - 2 Meethz FC

- In Genesio We Trust 2 - 0 Se Quedalle FC

Homme du match: Andreu (In Genesio We Trust) 7

- Gignac FC 1 - 3 FC HippoBigga

30 team D League

Gamer tag: PoeThePanda47
All teams are fully customized and I have a roster for each team setup as well. I know a lot of these teams aren't where the real teams are but I fixed it to like the MLB minor league system many teams play in large markets. I tried to base some teams on teams that do or once existed as a professional basketball team that was in the area. I didn't name the Seattle team the Sonics because I felt like the Sonics deserve to be strictly NBA not a minor league team if they ever do make a come back. I also tried to avoid teams being in the same market such as the Jazz and the Thunder D league teams being in in OKC or SLC.
-The Iowa Energy is the only team that plays in the same exact arena as they do in real life. -The Greensboro Swarm play in the large arena in the same complex that they play at. -The Rio Grande Valley Vipers I moved to a larger arena in Laredo, TX still along the Rio Grande River. -The New Mexico Thunderbirds I moved to The Pit aka WisePies Arena in Albuquerque. -The Austin Spurs I moved to the larger Frank Erwin Center just south of the University of Texas campus in downtown Austin. -The Texas Legends I moved to Fort Worth as Dallas & Fort Worth are decent drives. Fort Worth fans don't have to travel as far to enjoy a professional basketball game. -The Idaho Stampede and the Tulsa 66ers I moved back to there original locations as both irl are very close to their original team. -I felt like the Scottrade Center was a little too big for a d league team when a perfect size arena is nearby that's why STL plays in st Charles

-I moved the Grand Rapids Drive to the larger Van Andel Arena in downtown Grand Rapids.
